It's safe to say Alexandra Burke did not have the easiest time on Strictly Come Dancing when she competed last series, having to endure trolls and tabloid reports every week.

Many focused on alleged behaviour backstage and claims she was a diva, which she has had to endlessly refute.

However, there were also claims of a 'feud' between her and fellow contestant Gemma Atkinson after the latter caused speculation she was dating Alexandra's professional partner Gorka Marquez.

While Gemma and Gorka have since confirmed they are in a relationship, Alexandra has set the record straight, confirming there is "no feud" with Gemma.

"As you know, I find it bizarre how stories can be made up with no truth and printed and get permission to be printed with no truth. It blows my mind," she said during an appearance on Loose Women today (March 21).

"We never saw anyone. You're in your own bubble," she added, further explaining: "It was nonsense, he was always with me in the rehearsal studio, ten hours a day."

During her interview, the singer also addressed the cruel trolling during her stint on the show, admitting it was "hurtful".

"It just was there," she said. "In all my mentions, I then had people trolling me on Twitter, Instagram comments and stuff like that… you can't escape it.

"I did keep my silence for a very, very long time, for 11 weeks on the show. I thought, 'I'm not going to fight fire with fire, there's no point.' I just kind of concentrated on what was at hand, which was Strictly, and I was having a great time.

"Everyone around all of us in Strictly, they're so supportive. Not just contestants, the production company, everyone backstage, they get everyone through week by week. I can't thank them enough."

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
