Strictly Come Dancing has capped off a whirlwind week of cast announcements by adding two more celebrities to its line-up.

Since everyone loves a Friday, the BBC One series is giving fans an extra helping of casting news! Strictly started off the day on Radio 2 this morning (August 17) by revealing that Ashley Roberts will be joining the show.

Tonight, The One Show's Alex Jones and guest presenter Rory Reid were given the honours of revealing that stand-up comedian Seann Walsh and BBC News presenter Kate Silverton are both ballroom-bound for the upcoming series as well.

The two newest additions to the Strictly Come Dancing squad were also given a few moments to chat with Alex, Rory and fellow guest Jonnie Peacock - who competed on the show last year - about the challenges ahead.

Asked about her previous dance experience, Kate admitted: ""Nada zilch, none. It consists of me mouthing the lyrics in the kitchen, in front of my kids."

Alex Jones admitted that she was surprised to see Play to the Whistle and Virtually Famous comedian Seann Walsh signing up for a ballroom dancing competition.

"I just thought it would nice to do something where I could come out of the other end with a skill, and be able to do dance - but looking at your faces, I'm thinking it was a mistake," he quipped.

The trio of new stars announced today join a line-up that includes charity campaigner Katie Piper, stage and screen veteran Danny John-Jules, Faye Tozer from Steps and ex-England cricketer Graeme Swann.

Of course, Shirley Ballas will return as head judge along with her panel Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood, Dame Darcey Bussell - while Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are back as presenters.

Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One this autumn.
