Strictly Come Dancing announces first elimination
Strictly Come Dancing spoilers follow.
Strictly Come Dancing has aired the first elimination of the 2024 series.
This year's couples took to the dance floor for the second time on Saturday night (September 28) with an array of dazzling routines.
After the judges' scores were combined with viewer votes, Olympic swimmer Tom Dean and his partner Nadiya Bychkova found themselves dancing for a place in next week's Movie special against '80s musician Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones.
Tom and Nadiya took to the floor first to perform their Cha Cha to 'Boogie Wonderland' by Earth, Wind & Fire. Toyah and Neil then fought to impress the judges with their Jive to 'Nutbush City Limits' by Ike & Tina Turner.
The judges voted 3-1 to save Toyah and Neil, meaning Tom and Nadiya became the first couple to leave the competition.

Speaking to Tess Daly about his elimination, Tom shared how much his Strictly journey has meant to him.
"I've had the best time the last few weeks and getting to work with Nadiya has been incredible. I wish I could have gone further and done more dances," he said.
"I've had the most fun and I wish we could keep going longer and longer. We'll still go out for loads of brunches I'm sure."
Meanwhile, Nadiya gushed over her partner, revealing that it was a pleasure to get to know him and that he has taught her how to work "really hard".

"To get to know him, he's not just a three-time Olympic champion, he's a true gentleman and he taught me how to work really hard and how to put everything in," she began.
"And you know what? On this programme, sometimes to win, you don't need to win, and that's how I feel this year."
The results episode also included a jaw-dropping professional routine to Prince's iconic 1984 hit 'When Doves Cry' and a performance by Ezra Collective featuring Yazmin Lacey.
This weekend, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec found themselves at the top of the leaderboard after wowing the judges with an elegant Viennese Waltz.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
