Gorka Marquez has asked Strictly Come Dancing fans to "focus on dance and all the good things Strictly does" now that the BBC investigation has come to an end.

The contest's 20th anniversary series has been overshadowed so far by a probe into the alleged bullying scandal still rumbling on into the first few weeks of live shows, but pro dancer Marquez has told Lorraine he thinks it is time to move on.

His celebrity partner Dr Punam Krishan also shared why she loves being asked for injury advice by her co-stars in the cast.

It's been a tough start to the 20th anniversary of Strictly Come Dancing, with much of the focus being on the BBC probe into complaints about training room behaviour that only came to a close three weeks into the live shows.

Now that the investigation into allegations by Amanda Abbington about Giovanni Pernice's behaviour during rehearsals has ended, Strictly pro Marquez has said he believes it is time to move on and focus on the good things about the show.

He told Lorraine: "This year everybody's looking at (the pro dancers) with more like close eyes, but I feel like every year is the same, you know. This show is the biggest show and everyone loves it and wants to see what happens.

"I think us, the dancers and celebrities we have a huge impact on everybody who watched it. But for me right now, we should focus on dance, the good things the show does, it's 20 years of the show and we should celebrate all the good things that Strictly does."

Marquez also spoke about wanting to make sure his dance partner, Krishan, has a good experience on the show.

He said: "For me it's a once in a lifetime opportunity so I want (my partners) to have the best time. Obviously they are learning to dance but there are so many other things they're learning through the days and weeks, so just have the best time and enjoy it, that's the most important. The end result, that doesn't really matter, it's how far you can go."

Krishan added that she was a Strictly superfan, saying: "I am a GP, this is a completely different world from what I'm used to. I haven't done any performing before but I have been watching the show for the last 20 years, I'm such a superfan.

"I've sat on the sofa on a Saturday night in my cosy pyjamas with my snacks, my wee gin and tonic and gone, wouldn't it just be amazing to do that. Never in a million years did I think I'd be living out history."

Krishan admitted that she loved being asked for injury advice by her co-stars as she felt more comfortable with her day job than dancing.

She said: "I love those questions when it happens because suddenly I'm back into a zone where I know what I'm doing. I'm like yes please, do ask away. It's different to the Viennese Waltz chats."

The doctor also spoke about her Couple's Choice routine, the first time Bollywood dancing has featured on Strictly, calling Marquez an "honorary Indian".

Marquez said: "I learned so many things, not just dance wise but also culture wise because it's a culture that's so big in the UK. Where I come from I didn't know much about it but I got to see how much it means for Punam."

Krishan added: "It was a real 360 moment for my mum and dad, when they came to the UK the biggest fear for my mum was what if my girls won't be connected to their culture... I couldn't have asked for more, my granny watched it in India, it was reported over there, so proper 360 moment."

Lorraine airs on ITV1 at 9am on weekdays.
