Susannah Constantine has come under fire from Strictly Come Dancing fans who want her removed from the show over her stance on hunting.

The TV star, 56, was branded a “vile creature” after making her debut with Anton Du Beke on Saturday night’s show having previously discussed her love for the sport.

She faced a backlash in 2014 for posting a picture of her daughter Cece’s blood-smeared face while posing with a dead duck to mark her first kill.

One disgusted viewer launched a petition calling on the BBC to remove her from the show and to not pay her for her participation.

“Susannah Constantine of Trinny and Susannah is currently participating in the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing even after it has been reported that she is involved in the disgusting 'sport' of Hunting,” the Change.org petition read.

“Not only is she involved she takes her 10 year old daughter who also kills animals for sport. The BBC should not be rewarding this cruel activity with a primetime show and financial gain.”

Some 417 people have signed the petition which aims to reach 500 signatures.

Strictly viewers called for the BBC to vet contestants with some parents concerned about their children googling Constantine.

One tweeted: “Let’s make sure fox hunting, animal shooting blood smearing Susannah Constantine gets voted out first. Vile creature. #Strictly.”

Another wrote: “The BBC is a publicly funded state run broadcaster who must vet their contestants. I don't want my children Googling this person's name because they don't know who she is on their favourite early evening show only to find out she smears blood of dead animals onto her 10yr old.”

A third posted: “@Simply_Susannah your dancing was as impressive as your abhorrent hunting practices. Disgusting!”

Constantine finished bottom of the leader board on Saturday night after failing to impress with her Samba to Tico Tico which earned her 12 points.

The dance, which saw Du Beke jump out from under her dress, received a poor response from the judges with Shirley Ballas awarding her a measly three points.

She is the least likely to pick up the glitterball trophy with odds of 125/1.

Strictly Come Dancing is on BBC One, Saturday at 6:30pm
