Strictly Come Dancing pros Karen and Kevin Clifton 'working on marriage' but she admits 'it's not easy'

Their marriage has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks, but Karen Clifton has insisted “everything is fine” between her and husband Kevin Clifton.

She admitted they are “working” on their union, but it is “not as easy” to do so while they are both professional dancers on Strictly Come Dancing.

The 35-year-old star – who has been married to 35-year-old Kevin for two years – told The Sun Online: “Everything is fine. It adds a little bit of spark to the relationship and it just means that we care about each other.

“We just need to keep pushing and relationships take work, it’s not as easy as you think, especially being in a job like Strictly.”

Karen insisted every relationship has “ups and downs”, but she and Kevin are determined to “make it work” instead of giving up.

She added: “We’re just a regular couple, we’ve been together for seven years and like any other relationship you have your ups and downs and nothing is ever perfect so you make it work.”

The pro dancers have both been booted off the latest series after Karen and Simon Rimmer exited the show in week six, and Kevin and Susan Calman left the show last Sunday.

Speaking about Kevin, Karen said: “He’s doing great, he’s resting so he’s actually getting some sleep now.

“I always take care of him so if anything I always come home and I cook for him and do his laundry so it’s just nice to have him home.

“There’s been lots of wine drinking and taking naps.”

This comes after Kevin recently admitted he has found it “hard” filming in different parts of the UK to Karen.

He previously said: “Strictly is a hard few weeks for everyone and Karen and I have found this year’s particularly hard as we have been in different places since the start — with her in Manchester and now London and me in Glasgow.

“I’m looking forward to getting home.”
