Strictly send home fifth celebrity following Halloween week
During the results show, one couple’s time on Strictly came to an end.
What did you miss?
It looks like Dr Punam Krishan will be getting back into her scrubs, as the practising GP and TV personality becomes the latest celebrity to leave Strictly Come Dancing.
On Saturday night, Krishan and partner Gorka Márquez performed a tango to the Eurythmics hit, Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This). The nautical dance saw them dressed as undead pirates, but when it came to their performance, the judges were unable to uncover any buried treasure.
Instead, the pair ended up joint bottom of the leaderboard, and, along with Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu, had to repeat their dance in the dance-off. But when it came to the judges’ choices, it was time for Krishan and Márquez to walk the plank.
What, how and why?
As the bookies’ favourite to go this weekend, Krishan and Márquez gave the tango their best shot. But the judges were less than impressed.
Anton Du Beke described the performance as “great drama but all a bit floppy,” while Craig Revel Horwood added: “Gorka was dragging you around, lost frame but you had intensity."
The couple amassed a total score of just 26, before dancing their heart out for a chance to stay in the competition.
Sadly, it wasn’t to be, as all the judges decided to save Ward and Xu instead.
But despite this, in an interview with Tess Daly, Krishan seemed to be in high spirits. “I am really proud of myself,” she said. “You know I’ve taken on something that’s so out of my comfort zone. The one thing that I’ve very much learned is to say yes more, and that there is no point in your life when you can stop learning new skills."
Márquez added: “It's been incredible, it's been a fantastic six weeks. I'm very proud of what she has achieved. She's a GP and a mum. She had never danced before and I think she improved week by week.”

Márquez also made reference to the pair’s historic Bollywood dance during movie week, saying: “I feel very proud and very honoured that we got to do a Bollywood dance, to represent your culture, show your culture to the world and open doors for so many people in your culture.”
What else happened during the Strictly results show?
The Halloween Week celebrations continued with a Beetlejuice-themed dance led by Carlos Gu, while Lady Blackbird also stopped by to deliver an awe-striking musical performance.
The theme for next week’s live show was also revealed to be something brand new: icons week, which, as the name implies, is set to celebrate numerous musical icons.
There was also a notable absence from the show. Amy Dowden, Strictly professional and JB Gill’s partner, was rushed to hospital during the brief break between the main and the results show.
“Amy was feeling unwell and so an ambulance was called as a precaution,” a spokesperson for Dowden said. “She is feeling much better and would like to thank the Strictly family for their love and concern. We request Amy's privacy in matters of health is kindly respected.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One on Saturday 2 November at 6:30pm.
