Strictly Come Dancing fans are up in arms about this week's result, not only because Jamie Borthwick was sent home, but also for the fact that he ended up in the bottom two with Montell Douglas, despite her scoring 37 out of 40 on Saturday night.

With there now just three weeks until this year's Strictly final, competition on the BBC show is fiercer than ever and, for the second week in a row, Pete Wicks has defied the odds to make it safely through, as the support he has from the public shows no signs of slowing down any time soon . The former TOWIE star was the red hot favourite to be eliminated this week and, after finishing bottom of the leaderboard on Saturday night, he and pro partner Jowita Przystal faced an uphill battle to stay in.

However, viewers have got right behind the couple once again as, both they and second bottom couple Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell didn't even end up ion the dance-off, when the judges scores were combined with votes from viewers at home. Instead, having found herself in the bottom two for a second time last week, Olympic runner turned Gladiator Montell was left fighting to stay in once again.

Having topped the leaderboard just a few weeks ago, EastEnders star Jamie was condemned to the bottom two for his first and only time as, after both couples danced again for the judges, it was Montell and Johannes who once again got the unanimous backing of the judges and now advance through to next week's Strictly quarter final.

Very dignified in defeat, Jamie said that being on Strictly was "magic," before adding: " have nothing but the upmost respect for everyone on this show."

As soon as this week's bottom two was confirmed, viewers flocked to X to complain, with one blasting: "OH HELL NO!! Jamie and Montell are both better than Pete and Chris. It's beyond a joke now. Jamie could've easily been in the final" as another fumed: "Disgraceful neither should have been there!!!!"
