The Strictly Come Dancing Live tour has arrived in Liverpool with the first of two shows taking place last night. The celebrity contestants and professional dance partners will take to the stage again tonight.

Among the famous faces who have returned for the Strictly live tour is Shayne Ward. The former X-Factor winner was partnered with Nancy Xu for the 2024 contest and the two reunited for the live shows.

Sharing why coming to Liverpool is so important to him, the 40-year-old said: "I love dancing with Nancy. She made my experience on Strictly the best ever. She's the kindest and has the greatest energy I've experienced in my life. One thing I love as well is being in a place tonight where half of my family are from. Beautiful Liverpool.

Nancy, who has been a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing since 2019, added: We are so grateful to be perform in front of all you people in Liverpool. Thank you so much for all the support."

Their second dance was a special nod to the city as they both dressed as The Beatles to perform a Quickstep to Help! Their tribute to the Fab Four had the crowd in stitches when Nancy jokingly mispronounced Ringo and Shayne done his best John Lennon impression.

Shayne loved being in Liverpool as he said: "Liverpool I think you might just be our loudest audience so far. To prove this, all you have to do is sing Hey Jude as loud as you can. Are you up for the challenge?" The crowd at the waterfront arena united in song for a chorus of Hey Jude to show they were more than up for Shayne's challenge.
