Strictly Come Dancing spoiler leaks Blackpool result as high scorer suffers bottom two blow

A high scoring Strictly Come Dancing star has ended up in he bottom two this week, with fans left 'gutted' for them as a spoiler leaked the result from Blackpool, just hours after the live show had wrapped.

Blackpool is the episode many Strictly fans countdown to every single year and Saturday night's Strictly, live from the legendary Tower Ballroom certainly delivered the goods for this series. After a superb opening, featuring the Pet Shop Boys performing a medley of their hits, the job of starting the show was handed to Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell, as they got their highest score so far - 37 out of 40 - for their well executed American Smooth.

The bookies favourites to win Strictly ended up just two points off the top of the leaderboard, as Sarah Hadland and Tasha Ghouri shared the top spot on 39, while, at the other end of the standings, Pete and Jowita finished bottom on 27, nine points less than they scored a week earlier, as their cha cha cha got just 4 from Craig Revel-Horwood.

After a barrage of complaints over Shayne Ward's exit from the BBC programme last week, two ties on the leaderboard left the door open for another shock result, with many fans predicting that the public support for Pete could see him escape the dance-off once again, despite being four points adrift at the foot of the table.

While the Strictly results will air on BBC One on Sunday night, they were actually filmed in the Ballroom just hours after cameras stopped rolling on the live show. And the spoiler account started leaking updates from the results recording shortly after 10pm, with the identity of the first person in the dance-off provoking plenty of upset from fans, as one reacted: "Gutting about the first person in the dance off" and many others reacted with crying emojis, as the reveal of the second star in danger also caused a stir online.
