Strictly Come Dancing viewers issue same demand moments into show
Strictly Come Dancing returned this evening to reveal which celebrity and their partner would be eliminated. At the top of the programme, viewers were frustrated with a new change to the format.
The BBC ballroom competition switched up the format this year for its 20th anniversary. Historically, the results show would open with a spectacular performance from the professionals showcasing why they're the best in the business.
Strictly now heads straight into pre-taped commentary from the stars followed by the public vote. The professional routine is nestled between the results and final performances in the later half of the show.

The decision to move the routine has left fans disappointed in the show's new direction. Viewers have called for BBC to return the programme to its original format, stating: "Don't fix what wasn't broken."
Taking to X to share their frustration, Sohail Shah said: "No opening number. Straight into the results and recap. Sorry, I just don’t like the new format AT ALL."
Ryan Glendenning said: "PLEASE CHANGE THE FORMAT CHALLENGE!" Meg said: "Can we bring back the pro dances at the beginning of the show please and thank you."
Rosie said: "Not keen on the new results show format tbh." Debbie Blackman said: "I still don't like this format change."
Also issuing a please is X user Eve who said: "Strictly I beg you go back to your usual format next year, this format is making me think I’ve missed something. Don’t fix what wasn’t broken x."
Tonight, JLS star JB and his partner, Amy Dowden, found themselves in the dance-off against ex-footballer Paul Merson and Karen Hauer. After deliberation from the judges, JB was saved and will progress to next week's Halloween special.
