Strictly Come Dancing: Will Young’s Been Having Ballet Lessons For YEARS

Let’s face it, we’re already placing bets on who will be lifting the famous glitterball trophy in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, aren’t we?

Well someone better call Ladbrokes sharpish, as it turns out that one of this year’s contestants has an ever so slight advantage.

Turns out, Will Young is a budding ballerina – and has been having training for yonks!

Speaking to The Sun, he admitted that it’s his secret weapon when it comes to his fitness, and has been practising it to help him stay in shape:

“The gym is so boring. Ballet keeps me toned and I really enjoy it. I’m the only guy there. With my leggings and ballet shoes I’m a real Billy Elliot.”

That was back in 2006, but it seems that the ‘Leave Right Now’ singer has been keeping up with it – even attending lessons in South West London up to three times a week.

He told The Telegraph a few years ago: “I go to lessons at Dance Attic in Fulham three times a week. These activities make me less self-conscious and more confident in my body, as well as keeping me fit.”

With his dance background, the original Pop Idol is now one of the favourites to win the show, and it seems the BBC are delighted that he’s signed up.

Speaking to The Sun, a source close to the show predicted that he’d be great TV fodder: “Will is a brilliant signing for us. He is extremely popular, he is a true professional, he can be quite competitive and he is no shrinking violet.”
