Strictly Come Dancing professional Aljaz Skorjanec's health has been a topic of concern for fans on the new series. Viewers flooded the show with comments after the 34 year old took to the dance floor with Love Island star Tasha Ghouri, 26, for icons week.

After they had finished their energetic couple's choice routine, which paid homage to P!nk and her single What About Us., Aljaz appeared noticeably out of breath. As the pair went over to receive their judgements on the BBC show, the professional dancer could be heard heavily gasping for air through his microphone.

Aljaz only returned to the show this year after taking a break to raise his daughter Lyra, who he shares with Strictly It Takes Two host Janette Manrara. Viewers at home expressed their worry, urging Skorjanec to 'get checked out', and expressing fears he may be 'about to keel over with a coronary'.

One wrote on X: "I’ve noticed this series that Aljaz is very out of breath. Is he not fit? He should get himself checked out."

A second agreed: "Aljaz you need to get checked out for that shortness of breath, love," while a third added: "SOMEBODY CUT ALJAZ'S MIC! The deep exhausted breathing is KILLING ME!"

Another fan added: "#strictly I’m rather concerned that Aljaz is about to keel over with a coronary!"

In response to these concerns, top GP Dr Hana Patel spoke to MailOnline, providing her medical opinion on whether fans should be worried about the dancer's health and what could potentially be the issue. She explained that heavy breathing after exercise is normal.

She said: "Occasional shortness of breath during intense exercise is expected, especially if you push your body beyond its usual limits."

However, she warned, if 'persistent or excessive shortness of breath' continues more than 10 minutes after exercise, it could indicate an underlying issue that 'requires attention'.
