Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland issues career update away from show

In the comedy one-off special viewers can watch as the pair cause havoc in the lead up to Christmas

Strictly Come Dancing star Chris McCausland is set to star in festive special ‘Bad Tidings’ alongside fellow comedian Lee Mack. The Sky Original will see the two Liverpool-born stars go from enemies to heroes.

In the comedy one-off special viewers can watch as the pair cause havoc in the lead up to Christmas. Home security expert, Neil, played by Lee Mack has a problem with his neighbour. Scott, played by Chris McCausland.

After swapping their bins, he complains about Scott’s Christmas lights that have been up all year, shining into his home office. The residents on the street seem to love Scott to the dismay of Lee's character, Neil.

When Scott is put forward for the role of new head of Neighbourhood Watch, Neil questions his suitability for the role which leads to an argument. As a result, Lee Mack’s character blowing the power for the whole street on Christmas Eve.

With the street having to make alternative Christmas plans, Neil and Scott remain on the street standing guard. When a burglary takes place it is down to the two comedian's characters to save Christmas by putting their difference aside and working together.

This is not the first time the pair have teamed up on a project together. They appeared on an episode of sitcom Not Going Out last year and have also presented at the BAFTAs together.

While no official date has been released yet, the festive special will be coming to Sky and streaming service NOW this Christmas. The trailer has already been released with other cast members including Sarah Alexander, Ben Crompton, Emily Coates, Josiah Eloi, Millie Kiss, Tupele Dorgu, Sunil Patel and Donna Preston all featuring.
