In their latest episode of 'CHRIS' DIAnnRIES', Strictly star Chris McCausland admitted "this is exhausting" when talking about the dance routines he has had to learn. The comedian is partnered with professional Australian dancer Dianne Buswell on the BBC dance show and the pair are the bookies favourites to lift the Glitterballl.

Talking about learning the routines, Chris said: "Every week you (Dianne) have to explain to me what a Tango is or what a Samba is. So I've kind of gone from the Samba thinking oh more fun time waltzy time and the Tango is not fun time waltzy time."

Dianne reassured Chris, adding: "You're doing so well and one thing that we've been working a lot on today, the F word not footwork, this time frame." Chris told Dianne: "So tiring trying to hold your arms up and keep them straight while you're dancing. This is why I'm sweating so much, this is exhausting."

The Scouse comedian suffered a setback on Halloween Week as he finished joint bottom of the leaderboard after his Samba. The 47-year-old was concerned he may have had to contend the dreaded dance off but was relieved to find out he had been voted through.

In a daily diary entry posted by the pair yesterday discussing their routines, they thanked fans for their support. Dianne said: "Thank you so much because we were nervous weren't we."

Chris said opening the show made Saturday's performance extra difficult. He said: "I didn't get to do the dance before coming on. I had to be in a queue and when I'm in a queue, I think. I overthink to the point where I don't even remember what the dance was. I had to panic. My mind went blank.

The fan favourites were sent supportive messages. One fan commented: "Ahh bless you Chris , you are so right you have to start right at the beginning each week xx you’re getting all my votes every week."

Another fan added: "You were fabulous last week. I'm so enjoying watching you dance & everything else in between. Dianne, you are one extremely talented Choreographer & teacher. Chris, you are one very gifted student.

The remaining celebrities will be taking to the dance floor this Saturday in what will be a show first as the pairs take on Icon Week. The theme means they’ll be dancing to some huge anthems from global superstars. Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell will perform a Tango to Rock and Roll All Nite by KISS.
