Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Dianne Buswell has issued a health update. The Australian dancer is paired with Scouse comedian Chris McCausland on the current series of the BBC dance show.

In their weekly vlogs, the pair usually keep fans updated with everything happening behind the scenes of the show from song choices to decision making and funny anecdotes. In this week's 'CHRIS’S DIAnneRIES' Dianne revealed she hasn't been well.

In the video posted by both Chris and Dianne, he asked her why there was no video uploaded on Monday as there usually is. Dianne responded: "I wasn't very well" before Chris added "I was going to say because we were working really hard."

The 35-year-old dancer told Chris "I wasn't very well on Friday, I wasn't very well Saturday, Sunday was a write off and Monday I still wasn't very well." Discussing the lead up to last weekend, she shared she had a stomach bug and she didn't have a good night on Friday, November 8, but it was better on the Saturday.

The two have wowed fans with their journey so far on the BBC contest. Chris is the show's first ever blind contestant and his inspiring journey has won over over the hearts of the nation as he has emerged as the favourite to win the competition. After Saturday's performance, the two were delighted to hear they had progressed to the next stage where they will head to Blackpool.

Dianne thanked Chris for helping her through her health struggle. She told him "Full marks to you for helping me through it. You did carry me through that."

The pair looked ahead to the next round of the competition, which is Blackpool week. The comedian asked if Blackpool is all it is cracked up to be and Dianne told him he was going to "bloody love it".

Fans rushed to the comments to wish Dianne well after her bug. One comment said: "Glad you’re feeling better. Not many could still do what you done on Saturday while ill. Hats off to Chris for helping you through it."

Another supportive comment read: "You are true professional’s “the show must go on” wow well done performing being so sick, sending love and wellness and here’s to an epic time in Blackpool baby."

Strictly has confirmed its songs and dances for the ninth week of the competition, which sees the action move to the iconic Tower Ballroom in Blackpool. Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell will perform the American Smooth to ‘Jump’ by Paul Anka this Saturday, November 16.
