Strictly professional dancer Dianne Buswell has shared appreciation for her celebrity partner Chris McCausland. The pair have captured the heart of the nation over the weeks and are favourites to go all the way and lift the Glitterball.

Taking to Instagram, the Australian dancer said: "Massive appreciation for this guy! Things people don't realise is that for 11 weeks now every week Chris has no idea what each dance is! By this stage everybody has seen what each dance looks like to have an idea! Chris doesn't get that opportunity."

In the heartfelt message, Dianne acknowledged the Scouse comedian doesn't get the opportunity to watch himself back and see what improvements can be made week-to-week. She continued: "I just want to show my appreciation to this incredible man! Keep going Chris."

The 47-year-old comedian lost his sight at the age of 22 due to Retinitis pigmentosa (RP), a genetic disorder that also affected his mum and grandmother. Speaking on the Talking In The Dark podcast hosted by Evie Roberts, Chris confessed that while he would choose to regain his sight, it would have to be all or nothing.

The Strictly contestant said: "The short answer is yeah in a heartbeat, but it depends what that entails, it depends on how much sight that is." He added: "Trying to manage with eyesight, you know, [was] far harder than being blind and then just accepting that this is where you're at.

"Because, for the first time when you're blind, you've got kind of got consistency. You're like, OK, so this is it now, forever, so you kind of, for the first time, come to terms with it." Chris is the show's first blind contestant.

On Saturday night, Chris and Dianne danced a routine to El Gato Montes by Manuel Panella, this earned them a score of 33. Judge Oti Mabuse praised their effort, saying she “loved the commitment” in the dance. The performance earned the pair a spot in the quarter-finals of the competition.

After the show, Dianne shared a heartfelt message with fans on Instagram. She wrote: “THANK YOU all so much for the votes. We never take any of this for granted and are still taken away by your support every week."
