BBC Strictly's Jamie Borthwick 'stitched up' as viewers fume at EastEnders star's exit
Angry Strictly Come Dancing viewers are claiming that Jamie Borthwick was 'stitched up' on the show, before his shock exit on Sunday night, with fans accusing the judges of undermarking the EastEnders actor and being overly critical with their comments.
Given that Jamie actually won the Strictly Christmas special last year, a few eyebrows were raised when he was named on the line-up for the BBC show's new series, as some critics arguing that he had an 'unfair advantage' over his fellow contestants. Unfazed by that, Jamie quickly started to deliver some great performances in the ballroom, most notably his paso doble and Addams Family routine for Halloween Week.
The Strictly judges lapped up both of those numbers but didn't seem to have been anywhere near as impressed with what Jamie and pro partner Michelle Tsiakkas produced in the last few weeks, with them finding plenty of faults with his Argentine Tango,. the dance he was looking forward to the most and also not being overly complimentary about his Foxtrot this weekend.

Jamie and Michelle got 34 for that number, with them then becoming the second couple to get the boot from the Sambathon at the end of Saturday night's Strictly, leaving them with a combined total of 36. And, while they had never been in the bottom two before, sadly, that score wasn't enough to keep them out of trouble, with them then going onto lose the dance-off against Montell and Johannes.
Given that he'd previously topped the leaderboard, unlike Chris and Pete who are still in, many viewers were livid at Jamie being kicked out, as some started to air their accusations that he'd been 'stitched up.' Taking to X as this week's result was announced, one blasted: "Jamie was completely stitched up this week" as another reacted: "Jamie was completely stitched up this week."
