Strictly Come Dancing’s Janette Manrara Describes The Moment Aljaz Skorjanec Proposed

Strictly Come Dancing professionals Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec have been describing the moment he got down on one knee and proposed, and it’s all kinds of lovely.

The couple, who have been dancing on Strictly since 2013, announced their exciting news last week, with 31-year-old posting a photo of her sparkling new engagement ring on Twitter.

Aljaz, 25, popped the question at the beginning of the month, taking his girlfriend back to studio Dance Attic where they first met in 2010.

He told OK!: “I even managed to hire the same room! I told Janette we were going to a promotional event for my friend and that there might be press, so to look nice.

“I’d actually bought a ring two weeks beforehand and had been waiting for the right time.”

However, Janette admitted that she was worried she’d got the signals all wrong when he got down on one knee, stopping herself from crying just in case.

She said: “I was about to start crying and then I thought, ‘what if he’s just tying his shoes?’

“Then I saw the box come out and thought, 'Oh my God, it’s happening!'”

Here come the waterworks. From us as well as Janette, obviously.

She wasn’t the only one shedding “tears of joy,” with hubby-to-be Aljaz also admitting to having a “very manly cry” in the moment. CUTE.

He added: “It’s such a beautiful moment so you can’t really help it.”

There’s nothing wrong with shedding a tear or 20, Aljaz.

The couple aren’t in any rush to tie the knot though, with a source telling The Mirror: “They are both over the moon but they haven’t been thinking about setting a date.

“They just want to enjoy themselves for a bit. They are smitten, they have been together for four years and it felt natural to pop the question.”
