Strictly confirms week 8 songs and dances
Strictly Come Dancing has confirmed its songs and dances for the eighth week of the competition.
The remaining nine couples will take to the dancefloor once more on Saturday (November 9) night as they aim to make it through to the halfway point of the series, which sees the show move to the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom for one week only.
Saturday’s show will see a pair of Couple’s Choice routines from Chris McCausland & Dianne Buswell and Pete Wicks & Jowita Przystal, with the couples dancing to John Lennon’s ‘Instant Karma! (We All Shine On)’ and Nicotine Dolls’ ‘The Best’ respectively.

Montell Douglas & Johannes Radebe, who survived Sunday’s (November 3) dance-off, will return with a Paso Doble to The Shapeshifters’ ‘Lola’s Theme’, whilst Jamie Borthwick & Michelle Tsiakkas will perform the Argentine Tango to ‘Do I Wanna Know?’ by Arctic Monkeys.
There is also some Latin flair from Shayne Ward & Nancy Xu as they dance the Rumba to Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Time After Time’, whilst JB Gill & Lauren Oakley – the latter of whom replaced Amy Dowden – will perform the famously difficult Samba to ‘Mas Que Nada’ by Sergio Mendes.
On the ballroom side of affairs, Tasha Ghouri & Aljaž Škorjanec – the highest-scoring couple of the series – will aim to continue their excellent form with the Quickstep, which is being performed to ‘Fantasy’ by Mariah Carey.
Finally, there are a pair of American Smooths from Wynne Evans & Katya Jones and Sarah Hadland & Vito Coppola; the former will dance to MIKA’s ‘Grace Kelly’ whilst the latter will perform to ‘Proud’ by Heather Small.

This weekend’s episode comes after the elimination of Sam Quek and her professional partner Nikita Kuzmin, with the former hockey player and Gold-medal winning Olympian sharing that she felt she had “more to give” on the BBC show.
“I’m mega proud but I still wasn’t ready to go – I feel like I could’ve given more. But that’s the nature of the competition,” she said on It Takes Two. “In hindsight, I probably thought I could achieve more things as a dancer.”
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
