Strictly Come Dancing pro Dianne Buswell was officially paired up with her new dance partner on Saturday (September 16) night and has already got some training sessions underway.

The season 21 launch show saw the dancer coupled with soap star Bobby Brazier, best known for his role as Freddie Slater on EastEnders.

"Teaching somebody to dance brings me so much joy especially when you see the progression and joy it brings.

It’s not yet been announced what style of dance Buswell and Brazier will be performing for their first competitive routine next weekend.

However, it’s clear Buswell can’t wait to get the star-studded competition underway.

Sharing her excitement to be paired with the EastEnders star, Buswell enthused: "I am so pleased!

"I am so happy I have already adopted Bobby as my little brother, and I already care so much about him. I just want him to have the best time ever."

Strictly fans previously caught a brief glimpse at Brazier’s dancing skills as he took part in an extravagant group dance on launch night, which introduced the 2023 cast to viewers.

The opening show of the season also saw the Strictly professionals perform a special routine alongside the judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, and Anton du Beke.

Strictly Come Dancing returns for its launch special on September 16 on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
