Strictly fans call for Tameka to replace Will Young

Strictly Come Dancing fans have told BBC bosses reeling from Will Young’s shock departure EXACTLY what they need to do.

Yep, bring Tameka Empson back!

The much-loved EastEnders actress made her exit after losing a dance-off to Laura Whitmore at the weekend, with some viewers even claiming the show’s fans are racist for booting her off.

“‘I was surprised if I’m honest,” Tameka explained on spin-off show It Takes Two. “Not being big-headed, but I really thought I put all the right moves in and I didn’t put a foot wrong.”

However, it doesn’t exactly sound like Tameka is in the Beeb’s plans, with a show spokesperson explaining that here are no plans to usher in a replacement for Will.

Still, that’s nothing a petition can’t fix, is it?

Meanwhile, the reason for 37-year-old Will’s departure has sparked off a whole load of wild rumours, with the Mirror even claiming that last weekend’s rather awkward exchange with head judge Len Goodman prompted the Evergreen singer to waltz off into the night.

In case you missed it, Len told poor old Will to “show up, keep up and shut up” in response to a row over his Bollywood-inspired salsa, which Len claimed lacked enough traditional moves.

Will disagreed – and boy, didn’t he show it.

However, telly insiders have dismissed the row, even claiming the pair had a right old laugh about it after the show. Yeah, course.

So for now, we’ll just have to accept the singer’s “personal reasons.” In a statement yesterday, he explained: “I leave with joy in my heart that I have been able to take part in one of the most loved shows on British television.

“I am so grateful to everyone who works on Strictly from the lighting designer to catering to the production team.

“Strictly truly is the most unique family and I thank them from the bottom of my heart. And finally thank you to the BBC for supporting me throughout my journey. I wish my compatriots so much luck, and although I am back to being a viewer again, I’m certainly going to ‘keeeep dancing’!”

Hmmm… not while Len Goodman’s around though, eh?
