Craig Revel Horwood has spoken frankly about how he doesn’t think Strictly Come Dancing will miss recently axed star Brendan Cole.
In fact, Revel Horwood, 53, thinks the BBC reality show will be significantly improved without Brendan’s, 42, presence, after the star was let go by the show earlier this year.
Speaking to the Mirror at the launch of the Bat Out Of Hell musical, the Strictly judge did not hold back when talking about Cole.
‘Strictly will be better without Brendan,’ Craig was quoted saying at the event, also qupiing: ‘More fool him’.
But he wasn’t done there, as he continued to blast the professional dancer who, as he revealed recently, hasn’t had his contract renewed by BBC producers.
‘The show’s done him wonders,’ Revel Horwood said. ‘It’s done us all wonders. It’s been fantastic. I would never complain about it. It’s given us all platforms on which to stand.
“How many dancers in their life get a job that will last 15 years? Not many. Be grateful,’ he swiped.
Former judge Len Goodman was less brutal in his defence of the seemingly divisive dancer: ‘I always thought the pros should defend their celebrities. If you’re not careful, you can come across as a bit of a bully, picking on people that can’t defend themselves.
‘So, I think it’s admirable to say, “I can’t agree with you on that”. Maybe he went a tad over the top with it, but no, I think it’s good that the pros defend their partners.’
Cole denies he was axed by Strictly after ‘breaking royal protocol’ when he danced with Camilla Parker Bowles during a recent royal event. Apparently, Revel Horwood was scheduled to dance with good friend Parker Bowles, but Cole jumped in instead, leading to some bad blood between the pair.
Inside sources also claim that producers are also struggling to find a suitable replacement for the star, who are unable to find someone as tall to fill his role and indeed his stature.
