Strictly judge Shirley Ballas fuels Brendan Cole feud as she mistakes Charlotte Hawkins for Mollie King

Strictly judge Shirley Ballas threw major shade at Charlotte Hawkins after she confused her with Mollie King.

The head judge has been involved in a bitter feud with Charlotte’s pro partner Brendan Cole over criticism of his choreography – but now it appears she has added more fuel to the fire after her major gaffe on Saturday night.

Following their latest performance, a wedding-themed jive to Bruno Mars’ Marry You, Shirley started off her critique with, ‘Well, Mollie,’ clearly confusing Charlotte for fellow contestant Mollie King.

But instead of correcting her mistake, she simply ignored it and carried on with her assessment, saying: ‘We had nine sets of eight before we got started which I can’t criticise other people for and not criticise you.

‘But what I did quite like is you did a nice slip of your foot so you actually did have quite a nice action.

‘There was a few little mistakes in there but definitely a little bit of improvement,’ she concluded.

While no-one on the show addressed the blunder either, viewers at home were quick to comment on the awkward mistake.

‘Why did Shirley call Charlotte Mollie? Rude! Try to remember names Shirley, after all you expect them to remember so many steps!’ one viewer commented.

While another said: ‘Nope Shirley, that would be Charlotte not Mollie. The glorious shade of it all #Strictly #SCD’.

And another posted: ‘So Shirley forgets Charlottes name and calls her Molly and no one notices?! Len come back…… #Strictly’.

Another said: ‘Shirley throwing shade at Charlotte again, calling her Mollie. She really doesn’t like her does she? #Strictly’.

However, Shirley did take to her Twitter account following the show, apologising to Charlotte for her ‘genuine mistake’.

She said: ‘So sorry for accidentally calling Charlotte Mollie. Of course I know who they both are. It was a genuine mistake. Apologies to Charlotte x’.
