Strictly's Pete Wicks had ‘biggest shock’ as he wondered if show had got it ‘wrong’
The TV star was expecting to be eliminated from the BBC competition
What did you miss?
Pete Wicks has admitted he thought there had been a mistake when he made it through the latest Strictly elimination.
The Towie star and his pro partner Jowita Przystal have made it to the quarter finals on the BBC competition. But he confessed that he was surprised when he didn't end up in the dance-off which ended up being between Montell Douglas and Jamie Borthwick, who went home.
Speaking on spin-off It Takes Two, he said it was the "biggest shock" he'd had so far in the competition and that he wondered whether there had been a mix-up.
What, how and why?
Wicks told host Fleur East that he always expects to be handed his marching orders on the show, so when it was announced that he was safe he was taken aback.
"I thought I was going since week one, so every week is a surprise but that was probably the biggest shock out of the lot," he said.
"I didn't really understand because we were in the last two and I thought that they meant Montell had gone through and then when they went red I was like, have they got that wrong, what's going on?"
"Yeah it was very weird," he added.
Wicks and Przystał were at the bottom of the leaderboard after Saturday night's show, with a score of 32 out of 40, and the star admitted that he wouldn't mind a different position in the ranking every now and then.

"Listen it's obvious and I have said it a million times, I think people are probably sick of me saying it, I am obviously, technically the weakest dancer here and that's completely and utterly fair," he said. "So it would be nice to get over 30 occasionally and not be at the bottom but I think it is fairly understandable why I am."
What else did Pete Wicks say on It Takes Two?
This weekend the pair will perform a Waltz for Musicals Week. TV star Wicks revealed there are some things he needs to work on ahead of Saturday night's show.
As they discussed how he needed to "loosen up" the joints, he joked: "Which is a struggle for me because I move like a breeze block!"
Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two at 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One at 7.05pm on Saturday.
