Strictly’s Pete Wicks shuts down Jowita "passionate kiss" rumours
Strictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks has shut down rumours that he and dance partner Jowita Przystał engaged in a “passionate kiss” on the show.
A recent dance between the pair – who are competing on the current season of the BBC show – saw them appear to embrace.
During a chat with friend Sam Thompson on their Staying Relevant podcast, Pete warned fans not to “believe everything you read” as he spoke about the kiss rumours and his experience working in TV.

“It’s been the same thing for 11 years, it’s just the same narrative non-stop over and over again,” he said, before comparing his time on Strictly to other shows he’s been on.
“This isn’t like a late night thing like I normally do where I can swear and do all the rest of it. It’s supposed to be a different thing.
“And yet you wake up on a Sunday and its stories that haven’t even happened… They take things from the show which people watch and make it a thing.”
Opening up about the kiss rumours, Pete continued: “During the choreography, there’s a story been going around for two weeks that me and Jowita kissed during the dance – everyone watched it on TV.

“They called it a ‘passionate kiss’ – it’s the choreography, and we didn’t. That’s all anyone speaks about the next day.”
Pete went on to admit that during his early days on TV, he became a “caricature” of himself, elaborating: “I was the ‘bad boy’ that did this, that and the other.
“And that is totally my fault, but the person I am now is different to the person I was 11 years ago, and the person I am now is very different to the person I will be in 11 years. You as a person move on, but the narrative doesn’t.”
He added: “It is what it is and you can’t complain.”
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
