Strictly pro Nikita Kuzmin didn't realise mistake in first dance
Strictly Come Dancing professional Nikita Kuzmin was left surprised after partner Sam Quek admitted that she made a mistake in their first routine.
The BBC show returned on Saturday (September 21) following the launch show the previous week, with the 15 celebrities and their professional partners taking to the dancefloor for the very first solo routines.
Sam, a presenter and former professional hockey player, scored a respectable 23 points with Nikita for their Foxtrot, placing them safely in the middle of the leaderboard ahead of their return this week.

During an appearance on spin-off show Strictly: It Takes Two opposite Fleur East, Sam and Nikita shared their experience of their first dance together, with Sam shocking her professional partner as she acknowledged that she made a small error.
“I’ve loved every single minute of it - I’ve never had an experience like it. The nerves in the run-up [to the first dance] - I think I was physically shaking during the dance,” she began, with Nikita agreeing with her statement.
“To then finish it and come out unscathed, although I took a little bit of a tumble into the stairs just before my solo section. I smashed my foot,” she continued, before Nikita asked: “Did we? I didn’t even realise. Well done to you - it’s all okay!”

Sam, who won a gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, also revealed that she was sent an image of her excited children before she went on stage, sharing that it left her emotional.
“That gave me the lump in the throat before going on,” she remarked. “[They’re] why you work so hard. [My daughter] Molly was apparently telling everybody: ‘shush, that’s my mummy on the telly.’ They’re cuties.”
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
