Strictly's Shayne Ward showing true self on TV for first time
The singer and Coronation Street star rose to fame when he won reality show The X Factor in 2005 but insisted he was being himself in the BBC dance show.
What did you miss?
Strictly Come Dancing's Shayne Ward has confessed he is showing his true self on TV for the first time.
The singer and actor rose to fame when he won reality show The X Factor in 2005 but he has revealed that taking part in the BBC dance show is the first time he has allowed his real personality to come through to the viewers. Ward auditioned and competed in the second series of ITV reality show The X Factor and went on to win the show. But he said Strictly was the first time he had felt able to let his silly side come through on screen.
What, how, and why?
Ward made the revelation on Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two when he and professional partner Nancy Xu appeared on the BBC Two show on Friday 25 October, to chat to host Fleur East about rehearsals. The former Coronation Street star admitted he was really enjoying let his silly side come through in rehearsals and on the dancefloor. He said: "Do you know what I am always being silly. Especially with my kids and things like that. So it's quite fun, actually people can see that good side of me, that nice, silly side of it. I think sometimes because I've always been Shane the singer or Shane the actor, you know, this is the first time I think in not my career but my life, where I'm doing something where I get to be me. And it's quite overwhelming because it kind of feels like it's I'm kind of discovering myself for the first time. So it feels overwhelming, but it feels amazing at the same time. And I hope that people enjoy this side of it."

What else happened on It Takes Two?
Sarah Hadland's pro partner Vito Coppola said he owed all his choreography in the series so far to Hadland's friend and Strictly superfan Miranda Hart.
Hart has been posting comedy choreography tips on social media every week and reigning Strictly champion Coppola claimed he and Hadland owed their place in the competition to the Miranda star. He said: "Miranda, I must, I must get exposed, I cannot hide anymore. All these weeks I took the credit but actually it was Miranda's choreography. Because every week she was posting something - some notes, some advice, some new stuff that she created. Like in Samba, we use the hips figure eight. She was creating the zero, you know, and I put the zero as your first move was the zero. So I said 'Miranda, thank you very much. I was getting inspired by you. I was stealing her movement and pretended to be mine. But now everyone knows, so I cannot fake anymore. Thank you, Miranda. It's just you."
Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two at 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One at 6.25pm on Saturday.
