Strictly star Giovanni Pernice teases Ashley Roberts romance: 'Never say never'

Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice has teased Ashley Roberts romance rumours, telling fans “never say never”.

The Italian professional, who reached the final with Faye Tozer, had been linked with fellow finalist Roberts during their time on the BBC ballroom show.

Speculation was fuelled even further by reports that Pernice and the Pussycat Doll locked lips at the show’s wrap party last weekend.

Pernice has shut down claims they are currently dating, but didn't rule out a potential relationship in the future.

“She is beautiful, absolutely, but there is no chance that we're going to be in a relationship right now,” he told new!.

“Never say never but I’m not thinking about being in a relationship with anybody. I fancy everybody. I’m not in a relationship with Ashley at all at the moment.”

Roberts had previously quashed talk of romance during an appearance on This Morning with her partner Pasha Kovalev, shortly after reports claimed they were “dating”.

After a grilling from Phillip Schofield she said: “I’m really focused on the show. I’m passionate about getting better. It’s all about the dancefloor for me. We’re just friends and I’m single."

Her comments came after Pernice told the ITV show that he was in Newcastle training daily, leaving him no time to date.

He added: “I’m single. I’m sorry to disappoint you but I’m single.”

Pernice has previously been linked to several Strictly contestants. He dated his celebrity partner, Georgia May Foote, in 2015 following her split from actor Sean Ward.

He recently went through a very public break-up with The Only Way Is Essex star Jessica Wright, after they dated for a few months earlier this year.

In October, Wright confronted the 28-year-old at the Pride Of Britain Awards, branding him “full of s***”.
