Strictly Come Dancing co-stars Gemma Atkinson and Simon Rimmer have been batting off romance rumours ever since they posted a selfie that one time last year, so where better than on Sunday Brunch to set the record straight once and for all.

Both Gemma and Simon swiftly shut down rumours they'd had a one-night stand last year and last week Simon poked fun at the rumours once again when he and co-host Tim Lovejoy revealed Gemma would be appearing on Sunday Brunch this week.

Well, that day is now here and as Gemma sat down with Tim and Simon to discuss the Strictly tour, her radio show and how happy she was to see Joe McFadden win the Glitterball trophy, of course talk also returned to the "Strictly curse".

"I know! Me and Simon," Gemma said. "The thing that made me laugh was we all put a picture on Instagram, there were loads of us [but] they cropped everyone out and said it was just me, you and Aljaz and used that one!

"There was about 20 of us on there!"

During the chat, Gemma said that while she understood people have to speculate as part of their job, the intense scrutiny on relationships in the media had things going "a bit crazy" as she addressed the latest rumours that put her in a relationship with Ryan Giggs.

"I think what it is now," she continued. "Unless you put out there yourself who you're dating and where you're going [...] I think it's the case now where you're forced to sometimes go 'I'm with this person' and they leave you alone.

"But then if you're genuinely not with anyone, then it's kind of like you have to just deal with the... I mean, Ryan I've known since I was 19. I'm not in a relationship with him at all."

Strictly finalist Gemma is now going on to take part in the Strictly UK tour, which she describes a "feel-good" production.

"It's tough, but the show is like a massive production," she said. "It's kind of like watching the show for two hours. It's not like it is on the live, but there is that element to it.

"It's a really good kind of feel-good show, because it's all the elements of the lives, without that pressure."

And, as it's the 10th anniversary of the Strictly live tour, Gemma also teased that audiences will get a few little extra treats too.

"There's quite a few little surprises up everyone's sleeves," she added.

Sunday Brunch continues next Sunday (January 21) on Channel 4.
