Strictly's Amy Dowden 'missing' from BBC results show after medical emergency
Amy Dowden won't appear on Sunday night's Strictly Come Dancing results show, having been taken to hospital shortly after her performance on Saturday night, following a 'medical emergency' backstage.
Welsh dancer Amy was absolutely devastated not to play a full part in last year's series, having been diagnosed with cancer and then undergoing extensive treatment. She was well enough to perform alongside her fellow pros in the 2023 Strictly final and was then given the all clear to return full time this year, with her being p[partnered by JLS singer JB Gill.
Having been the early frontrunners to win in the eyes of the bookies, JB and Amy slipped down the odds in the first few weeks and were then dealt a huge blow last week when they fell into the bottom two for the first time, before narrowly beating Paul Merson and Karen Hauer in a dance-off that was littered with mistakes.

The couple hoped to bounce back in style on Saturday night and their Halloween Week Foxtrot to Dancing In The Moonlight by Toploader got an impressive 32 from the judges. However, medics were called to the Strictly set not long after the performance, after Amy collapsed away from cameras, before being taken to hospital after a member of staff made an urgent 999 call.
And it was confirmed that JB would be seen on his own in Sunday night's results show, as he waited to find out if he and Amy were through to another week. While it airs every Sunday evening on the BBC, in the reality, the Strictly results show is actually filmed just hours after the live episode finishes on a Saturday, meaning Amy would have been in hospital as cameras rolled.
Talking about what happened, a representative for Amy said: "Amy was feeling unwell and so an ambulance was called as a precaution. She is feeling much better and would like to thank the Strictly family for their love and concern. We request Amy's privacy in matters of health is kindly respected."
