Strictly's Amy Dowden to return to BBC show as professional dancers line-up revealed

After missing the 2023 series of Strictly Come Dancing, as she was diagnosed with breast cancer, Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden is returning to the BBC One show. Amy, who hails from Caerphilly, said she is "more excited than ever" to be returning to the series.

The BBC have announced the full list of the professional lineup for Strictly Come Dancing which includes Amy but is missing professional dancer Giovanni Pernice after allegations about his teaching methods. Amy also shared the news on her Instagram, explaining how happy she was to be returning.

She said: "I’m so happy and grateful to be back on @bbcstrictly MY HEART IS SO HAPPY. The best team on and off the dance floor. I can’t wait to be back doing what I love most in the world, dancing! The professional dancer, 33, first found a lump in her breast the day before going to the Maldives on her honeymoon with fellow professional dancer Ben Jones. She was subsequently diagnosed with stage three breast cancer and had a mastectomy before undergoing chemotherapy.
