Some details of Strictly Come Dancing remain obscure to professional Dianne Buswell's father, she shared on It Takes Two.

Appearing with her dance partner Chris McCausland on November 13's episode, Dianne received a video message from her dad — who still doesn't understand what Couple's Choice is all about.

Last weekend, Dianne and Chris wowed judges and fans alike with an outside-the-box dance to John Lennon's 'Instant Karma! (We All Shine On)'.

On It Takes Two, Dianne's dad Mark congratulated the couple on their Couple's Choice dance, though he added: "To be honest, I have no idea what that is."

Dianne, Chris and host Janette Manrara were left in stitches at the candid admission, with Dianne saying: "That's my dad for ya."

Momentarily ditching ballroom and Latin dances, the fan-favourite couple opted for a more personal, joyous style with Couple's Choice, a dance which can incorporate other styles, including theatre, jazz, and contemporary.

The pair racked up a score of 33, securing a place in this week's Blackpool special.

Weighing in on her father being supportive of her work with Chris, Dianne said he "absolutely loved [their routine]".

"He calls me every Sunday," she then added, saying her dad is "blown away" by Chris.

"Especially this week, he said it was his absolute favourite one."

Next up, the couple will tackle an American Smooth to 'Jump' by Paul Anka from the iconic Blackpool Tower ballroom.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
