Strictly's Janette Manrara 'snubs' husband Aljaz Skorjanec as she won't 'support' him to win
Strictly Come Dancing's beloved star Janette Manrara has confessed that despite her husband Aljaz Skorjanec returning to the dancefloor, she won't be rooting for him or anyone in particular in the upcoming series. Speaking during an appearance on The One Show with Fleur East, the It Takes Two host revealed to presenters Alex Scott and Roman Kemp that as a host, she can't have favourites.
Discussing Aljaz's participation in the new BBC series, Roman quipped: "Janette, I know someone you'll be cheering on. Aljaz, of course. Is it nice to see him back out there?" To which Janette candidly responded: "It is incredible to see him back on the show, but I'll be honest, I am not allowed favourites as host of It Takes Two, so I'm going to be looking at him the same way as I look any other professional and celebrity on the show."
She expressed her joy, however, about the family experience, saying: "It is nice to have him on the telly. I tell you it was really nice to watch him with Lyra. I had tears in my eyes because it was just so special to sit with our daughter, watching Daddy on the telly doing what he loves to do. It was amazing."

Additionally, the spotlight was on professional dancer Amy Dowden, who is bravely stepping back onto the Strictly dance floor after a challenging cancer diagnosis. When questioned about Amy's anticipated return, Janette remarked with admiration: "Amy is such an incredible woman, she has had Crohn's her whole life and she's dealt with that then she had to battle cancer, but she never gave up pushing and pushing and trying to get back onto that dance floor.
"She's meant to dance, she was born to dance, so for her to be able to come back and come back with a bang, this number was phenomenal," reports the Express.
"It is so special to have a back when every single person on the show is so excited."
The conversation quickly turned to the 20th anniversary special, as Alex asked: "Strictly, though it's a special year, the 20th anniversary. What's going to be happening? What's the special surprises in store?"
"Alex, you know, it's a big year," Janette hinted. "There's gonna be some surprises, there's gonna be a couple of new twists and turns, like you said in your lovely intro, happening for the 20th anniversary.
"I think watch this space. There's definitely gonna be some new stuff."
The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
