Strictly Come Dancing's Kai Widdrington gets new partner after 'cruel' BBC snub angers fans
Kai Widdrington has made the bold statement that 'no-one is ready' after landing a new partner to make history on Strictly Come Dancing. just months after he was 'snubbed' by producers and not given a celebrity for the new series.
Having suffered heartache in his first series on Strictly in 2021, when he made the final with AJ Odudu, only for the TV presenter to have to pull out due to a nasty injury in rehearsals; Kai was then the first pro to be voted out the following year, when his partnership with Loose Women host Kaye Adams failed to get enough support from the public.
Things got better for Kai when he made up for that early exit by winning the Strictly 2022 Christmas Special with Coronation Street's Alexandra Mardell, before forging one of last year's most memorable pairings, as he was teamed with TV legend Angela Rippon.

Given his popularity with both Strictly viewers and his celebrity partners to date, fans assumed that Kai would be given a star to dance with for the latest run of the hit BBC show; however, that wasn't the case and just like now ex Nadiya Bychkova a year earlier, was left out on the cold, meaning his appearances over the last few months have been rather fleeting.
While Kai has been seen in the background of the weekly live broadcasts and in group numbers, his role in the new series has been very much restricted, but that will all change in December, as he has been selected to take part in the Strictly Christmas special and has a very exciting partner.
After comedian and TV presenter Josh Widdiciombe was unveiled as the first star to be competing in the festive episode on Monday, on Tuesday's It Takes Two, it was revealed that Kai will be dancing with Drag Race UK royalty Tayce, who finished third in the BBC programme's much loved second series, as she becomes the first drag star to compete in the BBC ballroom
Reacting to a video of the big reveal on Instagram, Kai wrote: "NOONE is ready for this," as many of Tayce's Drag Race colleagues reacted with delight, including Cheryl Hole who commented: "5 YEARS AND WE HAVE FINALLY GOT OUR FIRST QUEEN!"
