Strictly's Kym Marsh calls in sick to rehearsals days after crippling panic attack

Kym Marsh revealed that she pulled out of Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals on Monday, days after suffering a crippling panic attack.

The contestant, 46, had a severe panic attack last week, and was forced to call in sick to rehearsal following another health issue, causing her to miss precious practice time, along with her second gig hosting Morning Live with Gethin Jones.

Marsh said she “caught the bug off the children” as she appeared via video link on the show on Monday, and discussed her anxiety struggles, as she said she is currently taking a break from the dance studio, to prevent more panic attacks from occurring.

The Coronation Street star had a successful weekend on Strictly, after impressing the judges with her fierce Argentine Tango routine with partner Graziano Di Prima.

Despite her break from rehearsals, Marsh seemed confident she’ll be back in good health in time for Saturday’s show.

She said on Morning Live: “I’m all right, I just caught a little bug off one of the children, unfortunately. I caught it yesterday on the train on the way home so that was nice.

“I will pull myself through. It’s only one of those 24-hour things and I think you have got to get out there and do it no matter what, even if you’ve got bits dropping off. You’ve got to get out there and go for it!”

Marsh achieved her highest score in the series so far on Saturday, for her winning Tango performance.

The star is also filming BBC drama Waterloo Road whilst doing the show, and recently spoke about it being “tricky” juggling multiple jobs during Strictly.

Marsh said: “It’s quite tricky. We train as much as we can. We put in as many hours as we can.

“There are some days when it becomes impossible when my schedule at Waterloo Road becomes too manic like we lost Tuesday (this) week.

“I was in every single scene, all day at Waterloo Road.”
