Neil Jones was overheard giving a three word 'vote of confidence' to celebrity partner Toyah Willcox, as their Strictly Come Dancing routine came to an end on Saturday night, after a tough week for the music icon when she was made the red hot favourite to be kicked out first.

After some fans had built her up to be the 'next Debbie McGee' it's A Mystery singer Toyah made her Strictly debut last weekend, as she and Neil performed tango to Madonna's Ray of Light. However, while the music choice was a fine one, the routine didn't go to plan, with the judges picking apart the mistakes Toyah made in it and told her she needed to channel her 'frantic' energy into the technique of the dances she did going forward.

Neil and Toyah got just 12 out of 40 for their week one dance, leaving them five points adrift of their nearest rivals at the foot of the leadeboard and facing an uphill battle to survive. Fortunately for last week's bottom couple, there was no elimination in opening weekend and Toyah was given a chance to redeem herself seven days later, as she and Neil returned to the dancefloor to do a jive to Tina Turner classic Nutbush City Limits.

The performance saw Toyah channel her inner Tina and after the judges, studio audience and millions at home saw her give the jive her all, the now 66-year-old got a huge seal if approval from Neil when the music ended, as he was overheard telling her: "You smashed that!"

Toyah also got much better comments from the judges compared to a week earlier and also saw her score head in the right direction, going up from 12 to 18.
