Nick Knowles forces Strictly Come Dancing 'rule change' as he returns after injury crisis
Nick Knowles prompted a major rule change on Saturday night's Strictly Come Dancing, as the TV star returned to the competition following an injury setback.
Having injured his shoulder changing a tyre on his broken down car after the first live show, DIY SOS presenter Nick's preparations for last week's third live show of Strictly 2024 were thrown into chaos, when he landed badly in rehearsals last Fruiday, with just 24 hours to go and was deemed unfit to perform alongside his co-stars 24 hours later.
It was touch and go all week as to whether Nick would be back in action this week, after he and pro partner Luba Mushtuk were given a bye to the next round of the competition. Judgement day for Nick came on Friday and, unlike a week earlier, he received the green light to perform.

After being scene coming down Strictly's famous stairs at the start of Saturday's live show, Nick and Luba were the fourth couple to dance for the judges, but, before their performance, host Tess Daly explained that, rather than doing a new routine for week four, the pair would instead be doing the Charleston they should have done for Movie Week.
They ended up dancing to Rain On The Roof from Paddington 2, a number that Strictly judge Craig Revel-Horwood actually choreographed for the hit movie. Craig was the first to pass judgement on the dance, before then giving the lowest score of the panel, just 4 out of 10, contributing to a total of 21 out of 40.
Speaking to Tess' co-host Claudia Winkelman, Luba was quick to praise Nick, revealing he'd been "so determined" not to let the injury bring his time on Strictly to an end.
