Strictly's Nick Knowles issues injury update after freak accident as BBC make 'emergency' plan
Nick Knowles has told Strictly Come Dancing fans that a decision will be made on Friday as to whether he can perform in Saturday night's live show, as his injury has forced producers to come up with an 'ernergency plan.'
It was reported at the start of this week that DIY SOS presenter Nick had picked up a nasty injury, with the man himself taking to Instagram on Monday to reveal that he'd caused damage to his shoulder and arm in a freak accident while changing a tyre. Nick headed to social media to upload a video of himself talking to the camera, with his arm in a makeshift sling, explaining that'd be broken down with a puncture in the car while driving with his young son and, in an effort to try and get moving as quick as he could, rushed to change the affected tyre himself, sustaining a painful injury in the process.
Nick has been issuing updates on social medias throughout the week, including on Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two and, on Wednesday offered some encouraging news, when he revealed he'd had a 'good' day of training with pro partner Luba Mushtuk, as they prepared their American Smooth to Parklife by Blur for Saturday's second live show of the new series.

However, Nick ended his latest injury update by also detailing the fact that a last minute decision will be made on whether he is fit enough to actually take to the dancefloor at the weekend, with him adding that the final call on his participation in the show is due to be made on Friday.
And Nick's update on his progress comes as insiders claim that Strictly producers have been making 'emergency plans' behind the scenes on how to deal with it, with a source commenting: "They are all anxiously waiting to get the all clear from the medical team about Nick being able to compete this weekend, but are determined not to lose him from the show,"
On what would happen to Nick, 62, should he not be deemed well enough to dance on Saturday, they added: "He is such a popular figure with viewers, and if he needs time to recover he will get a free pass to return the following week, all being well," they continued. "If that bothers other contestants, then so be it. The bosses want him back."
