The Only Way is Essex star Pete Wicks has admitted he’s "petrified" ahead of Strictly Come Dancing’s first ever Samba-Thon tonight. In the show first, when all of the seven remaining couples have finished performing their routines, they will all return to the dancefloor as one big group, as they start to dance the Samba.

The judges will then eliminate couples one by one. The first out will receive one bonus point, while the ones who stay longer will amass up more of those all important scores. The last couple will be graced with a huge seven points to add to their leader board score before the public vote opens.

However, TOWIE star Pete, who finished bottom of the leader board last week with his partner Jowita Przystał has revealed the nerves have been catching up with him. When asked if he had any weird and wonderful techniques, rituals or superstitions to cope with nerves ahead of Saturday's live show, Pete revealed he never gets nervous but he’s “petrified of this.”

“This is the most nervous I’ve ever been about doing anything,” he said before expressing how far out of his comfort zone the show was. Despite the low score at last weeks iconic Blackpool Tower show, the TOWIE star had viewers highly entertained as he strutted his stuff to Right Said Fred’s I’m Too Sexy For in tight PVC pink pants. The moment had fans in barrels of laughter as they took to X, formerly known as Twitter to comment on the moment, OK! Magazine reports.

One fan tweeted: “OH PETE THE ICON YOU ARE #strictly”, while another said: “Pete was weirdly iconic I thought #Strictly ”. A third chimed: “Oh dear not Pete’s best dance but omg those pink pants! A showcase for his sexiness. It worked. The judges comments are hilarious. Craig as honest as ever #Strictly".

As well as the viewers, head judge Shirley Ballas was also left speechless. . When giving her commentary, in fits of laughter, Shirley said: “It was very entertaining. I don’t think I’m ever going to forget this evening for as long as I live darling.”

The light hearted number came a week after Pete left not a dry eye in sight the week prior as they danced to The Best by Nicotine Dolls, which Pete dedicated to his late nan. Revealing he was ‘in tears’ during rehearsals, the star said: "This is going to be a tough one for me, based on the fact that, I mean, I've not heard the song all the way through up until this week, since my nan's funeral.

"My nan was my best mate, and we played this at a funeral because it was her favourite song, and if there's one person I wish was here and was able to watch me, it would be her. And she's not been, so this is kind of my way of having her on this mad adventure with me."
