Strictly's Pete Wicks made cryptic Maura Higgins comment days before confirming romance
Rumours that Strictly star Pete Wicks and Maura Higgins are dating were finally confirmed at the Pride of Britain Awards on Monday (21 October) when the reality TV stars could be seen sharing a kiss. Their embrace comes just days after Pete made a cryptic comment about the former Love Islander.
With gossip hotting up in recent weeks that Maura and Pete were romantically involved, it seems that Olivia Attwood was ahead of the curve. The star seemed certain that the two were loved up as she chatted to the Strictly star last week on her So Wrong It's Right podcast.
The Only Way is Essex star remained exceptionally cautious and coy as he responded to Oliva's questions, saying: "She is lovely, me and Maura have known each other for a very long time."
Before adding: "I think Maura is great and we get on really well and we have done for a very long time."

As he claimed that they weren't dating, Olivia seemed less than convinced as she jokingly threatened to throw her award at him for not confirming the news.
And as Pete quipped 'you really thought you were going to get it out of me then didn't you?', she confidently replied that she'd got 'enough': "I actually don't need you to say anymore because I've got enough, I think your face and your body language (say enough). I think we know what we need to know."
With rumours circulating for some time that the pair may be romantically involved, they were even seen sharing a kiss in August outside the Broadwick hotel in Soho, London. However, the reality stars have so far been keen to pour cold water on the gossip, with Maura recently pictured wearing a t-shirt with the slogan “We can’t be friends.”
But, that's not all, as they were also seen in a video posted on TikTok earlier this week where they could be seen dancing together.
Pete rose to fame when he first appeared on ITV's The Only Way Is Essex for its fifteenth series and since then has featured on a whole host of reality TV shows including Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls, the sixth series of Celebs Go Dating and Celebrity Masterchef.
