Strictly Come Dancing star Tasha Ghouri was moved to tears after receiving an emotional message from her parents on The One Show.

The star, who is currently competing on the BBC dancing series, appeared on the chat show last night (November 5) and received surprise messages from her mum and dad.

Following her lauded Couples' Choice on last weekend's show to Pink's 'What About Us', which was personal to the Love Island star, Tasha's mother said in the clip: "The dance on Saturday was just absolutely amazing. I'm kind of lost for words.

"It was moving, it was powerful and it was so meaningful and it meant so much to you and so much to us – I'm probably going to start crying again! Well done, we love you so much."

In a separate video, her dad beamed: "Tash, I was already full of pride the second you were born and you keep piling it on. The overflow is now tears!

"With or without disabilities, people can often feel in a dark place, and your performance resonated with so many people for different reasons. Your passion for helping others is admirable – you have a very, very special heart. Never change darling. We all love you princess, and Aljaž [Škorjanec] – thank you for everything."

Speaking in the studio after watching the clip, Tasha was visibly emotional as she declared: "They always make me cry, every single time. Seeing my parents getting emotional, it gets me."

Tasha and Aljaž are currently the highest-scoring couple of the season, and will be hoping to continue their winning streak this weekend with a Quickstep to Mariah Carey's 'Fantasy'.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
