Yahoo News Strictly's Vito Coppola suffers wardrobe malfunction in live final
Strictly Come Dancing star Vito Coppola suffered a wardrobe malfunction in the grand final as he took to the dancefloor with Sarah Hadland.
The pair competed for the Glitterball Trophy on Saturday (December 14) night, with the couple hoping to prevail over JB Gill and Lauren Oakley, Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec and Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell.
After their first dance of the night – an American Smooth as selected by the Judges’ – Vito could be seen covering a certain part of his body as he made his way over to host Tess Daly, who remarked that he had suffered a “wardrobe malfunction”.

As Sarah and Tess attempted to cover an embarrassed Vito, head judge Shirley Ballas quipped during her feedback: “Might have been a slight malfunction with the trousers, but there was no malfunction with the routine.”
The blunder was also commented upon by fans of the show on social media, with one writing on X/Twitter: “Sarah and vito’s reaction to his trousers splitting open had me crying.”
“Let’s face it, it was only a matter of time before Vito had another trouser malfunction,” joked a second fan, with a third quipping: “Vito’s trousers coming undone… I know that was god’s work gravity really said here’s your final gift to end the series.”

“Vito trouser malfunction is the #Strictly season finale we’ve all been waiting for,” added a fourth fan, with a fifth noting: “Vito wanting to jump up and down with excitement, but not being able to because he has to hold onto this trousers, is sending me.”
Despite the gaffe, Sarah and Vito still scored well with the judges as they accrued 39 points. This had them in joint-second place after the first set of dances, with the Showdance and Couples' pick still to come.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
