Strictly's Wynne Evans caught up in result row as another star 'escapes' BBC axe
While some viewers claimed Wynne Evans should have been sent home last week, fans are now arguing that another star should have been eliminated ahead of him on Sunday night, after they had a 'lucky escape' from the dance-off.
Ever since some strange behaviour from him and pro partner Katya Jones on screen became a big talking point online back in October, opera singer Wynne had been predicted to leave Strictly, but defied the odds right up until last weekend, when he was condemned to the bottom two for the first time, alongside Shayne Ward.
After the Strictly judges vote started with both Craig and Motsi saving Shayne, things were looking good for the X Factor winner, only for Anton and Shirley to take things in a completely different direction by both opting to keep Wynne and Katya in, in a result that caused considerable anger online, as viewers hit out at head judge Shirley making 'the wrong call' with her deciding vote.

Having made it through to Blackpool and performed a Chareleston, Wynne and Katya ended up in the dance-off again, this time against Montell and Johannes, only this time the result wasn't even close, as all four judges opted to keep Montell in.
And, as some critics celebrated Wynne being eliminated online, others jumped to his defence, arguing that if anyone should have gone this week, it should have been Pete Wicks, who finished four points adrift at the bottom of the leaderboard, after his cha cha was filled with mistakes and only got a mark of 4 from Craig.
Stating that point on X, one fan, annoyed by this week's Strictly result, posted: "Pete and Jovita through and Wynne in the dance off? FIX! Pete should be out and should have been last week!" as another fumed: "So how the hell did Pink Pete not be in the dance-off? His Cha-Cha was the worst dance of the night!"
