Stuart Hogg ranted he 'hated disgusting Glasgow accent' in texts to secret girlfriend
Shamed Glasgow warriors rugby star Stuart Hogg "hated the Glaswegian accent" he revealed in messages sent to his secret former flame.
Once heralded as the golden boy of Scottish rugby with his famed number 15 jersey, Hogg was unmasked as a domestic abuser earlier this month.
The former Scotland captain 32, from Hawick, Roxburghshire, who was convicted of a five-year campaign of abuse against his wife, was also terrorising secret girlfriend Jilly O'Donnell at the same time.
After the pair parted ways, they remained in touch and it was in messages that Hogg, who played for Glasgow Warriors from 2010- 2019, told his former lover that he "hated" the Glaswegian accent.
In a text message exchange between the pair, Hogg wrote: "Glaswegian accent is dusting. Hated it."
Jilly, 47, from Newcastle, said: "After he moved back to Scotland we kept in touch.
"He told me once he didn't like the Glasgow accent."
Hogg's rugby journey began as a promising 18-year-old debutant for Glasgow Warriors in February 2011 at Firhill Stadium.
In November 2014 Hogg signed a two-year contract extension with the Glasgow Warriors, keeping him at the club until at least May 2017.
He later signed a further contract in 2016 taking him to the end of the 2018/19 season.
Jilly spent three years dating the convicted domestic abuser after they met on Instagram in 2020 and he told her he was separated from his wife, Gillian.
But the pair ended contact when Hogg began a relationship with TV racing pundit Mayor, once dubbed the "world's sexiest jockey".
Mayor and Hogg announced they were together on Instagram while in a spa in Staffordshire last November, days after his wife Gillian, 37, had given birth to their daughter.
Hogg, who now plays for French club Montpellier, was revealed to be controlling and manipulative earlier this month when he pled guilty to a single charge of domestic abuse against Gillian, his now estranged wife.
If the case had gone to trial, the former British and Irish Lions star would also have faced a charge of bombarding Jilly with hundreds of messages and a barrage of calls over 17 months despite her begging him to stop.
Jilly has decided to speak out about the torment she suffered at the hands of Hogg in the belief that other women have fallen victim to him.
