Student has best response to live TV A-level result disappointment
A student left disappointed after opening his A-level results on live TV has had some good news after securing a place at university.
Liam Scroggie found out his exam results alongside his best friend on Good Morning Britain as millions watched at home.
The teenager needed an A and two Bs to study politics at Queen’s University in Belfast, but just missed out on a place at his first choice destination.
He was philosophical about missing out, saying:
“At the end of the day, win or lose, you’re on the booze.”
There was a happy ending to the story, with the student being offered a place at his second choice, Hull University.
Yeah I've accepted my place, can't wait! See you in September!
