Protesters clashed with police in Minsk, Belarus, on September 1, as unrest continued in the wake of President Alexander Lukashenko’s disputed re-election.
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported that university students gathered in the city for a nationwide strike to coincide with the first day of the school year. At least 28 people were detained by police, RFE/RL reported.
