Student Protests Continue as Macron Prepares to Address Nation

Student protests against educational reforms continued across France on December 10, with Le Monde citing the education ministry as saying some 120 schools were “disturbed”.

The demonstrations came after another weekend of often violent protests led by the “yellow vest,” or “gilets jaunes” movement.

Later on December 10, President Emmanuel Macron was due to address the nation and speak to trade union representatives in a bid to defuse the weeks of unrest.
