Stunning photos show the artworks of Lumiere London lighting up the city over the weekend.

Famous landmarks were illuminated as part of the four-day festival which saw 40 artists transform destinations such as Kings Cross, Oxford Circus, Covent Garden and Victoria.

It was the first time the festival went south of the river and included a display from the National Theatre.

The London Eye put on its own light display as it glowed purple and blue against the night sky.

The UK's largest light festival, Lumiere London 2018 is produced by arts charity Artichoke and commissioned by the Mayor of London. The display returned to dazzle passer-bys this weekend, transforming the skyline if the capital into a nocturnal art exhibition.

More than 50 illuminated artworks flooded the capital - creating an immersive display for Londoners.

The festival launched in 2016 when some 1.3 million visitors made their way around town to see the show.

Entirely free for the public, the light show is an unmissable event.

Following four evenings of marvels, the festival will come to a close on Sunday evening.
