Video has captured a stunning starling murmuration in the skies above the Eden Valley in Cumbria, northern England. Thousands of starlings are seen in fast-moving formations as they gather to roost in the evening. They twist and turn for minutes before dropping into some conifer trees to spend the night. The behaviour is called murmurations, because of the sound thousands of flapping wings make, heard on this video.
